"Advocates Co-Response Jail Diversion clinicians are called to a variety of situations alongside our police partners. An unfortunate, but also rewarding, part of our role is to support families and friends after losing their loved one by suicide. Our clinicians offer support to the best of their abilities. We often refer to clinicians as a “tool on an officer’s tool belt.” LOSSteam MetroWest is a tool on our clinician’s tool belt. Having a team of providers who are able to truly empathize with those going through this loss is vital. Having worked with LOSSteam MetroWest on several calls, I cannot describe how much I appreciated having someone answering the phone and being available for support. They are a wealth of resources in a time where things seem utterly overwhelming. It is a comfort to know that our community members have LOSSteam MetroWest available to them for help after our clinicians have left the scene. It is additionally helpful to know that LOSSteam MetroWest has expanded further and are able to provide remote support as our team has grown as well. We continue to be abundantly appreciative of our partnership with LOSSteam MetroWest as we continue to navigate the tragedy of suicide in our communities."
