Volunteer
Our LOSS Team is comprised of volunteers who believe wholeheartedly in the power of immediate crisis support in the aftermath of a suicide death. The volunteers who go on scene are required to be suicide loss survivors themselves. There are also functions within the team that can be fulfilled by volunteers who are not loss survivors, and their involvement is very important to the team’s success. If you are a loss survivor and/or feel strongly about postvention as prevention, please consider a volunteer role with LOSSteam MetroWest.
"This was the volunteer opportunity that felt so right for me.
I wanted to be part of something that I wish was available to me.
I so desperately wished there was some sort of guidance at such a traumatic time."
CLAIRE MCCOLLOM
LOSSTEAM METROWEST LEAD VOLUNTEER
Those who are interested in learning more will attend an Information Session to discuss the many aspects of the program. Potential volunteers are required to fill out paperwork and provide references before moving forward in the process. We encourage open and honest dialogue in order to determine if a volunteer position with the LOSS Team is right for each individual.
Thank you for your interest in this profoundly important work.
